disastrous sunday

one word to conclulde today: disastrous

pups at the pet safari were so adorable. they were small and sleeping so soundly in the display window. their actions were so childlike, jumping around and entertaining themselves.

*sigh i would love to have a little pup. but i know i won't be able to get one.

under a big umbrella that shelters many

can the big umbrella become another smaller umbrella to help cover what it currently is taking? the big umbrella would not be able to cover if there are too many under it. it is good to share the load with others.

question is, what are the loads that can be put under the other umbrella then?

i did a test, and i find it quite true.

Take this test at Tickle

You're in your comfort zone when you're the Free Spirit!

So many people to see, places to go, and good times to be had! It's too bad you can only be in one place at a time since you probably have so many competing interests! A spontaneous, free spirit like you tends to go with the flow and take life as it comes. You've probably got a wide circle of fun-loving friends, which translates into a full dance card of activities, events, and occasions to celebrate. You're not one to let people down or turn down an invite, so over-committing may be something you've experienced before.

Maybe it's your easygoing nature or your friendly demeanor that people find so likeable. Perhaps it's your generosity and your charm. Whatever it is, it's clear that you're a well-liked friend to many and the glue for your group. From making introductions to inviting people along for an action-packed night, you're a friendly and fun person that's welcome at any party — even if you only have time to drop in and say "Hi."

What's Your Comfort Zone?

Brought to you by Tickle

sick

what am sick about?! it's the sickness of eating at the airport on saturdays and sundays. can't we go to another place to have fellowship, other than the airport?! frankly speaking, the fellowship would just be around some people. it's either you're in, or out. seriously, let's get out of where we feel comfortable. go to bedok, siglap or somewhere else!

thankfully i had jillian who shared the same sentiments as me - too sian of going to the airport. she does not go there often with majority people, but she feels sick too. treated her to sushi at sakae. yeah... that's my girl... =)

i need a new sunday life... probably saturday too... hope drum lessons would commence this week, so it'll be a productive afternoon! yippee...

what did i do on the long weekend?

- attended the Good Friday service @ the expo
- had a lonely lunch @ simei's banquet
- took an hour bus ride to suntec city
- walked around e-life, looking at the Apple promos while waiting for June
- tried playing tomb raider on xbox 360
- bumped into her while looking at something at the shop
- she bought usb fans for Jan & i (doraemon one for me, yellow smiley faced one for Jan)
- popped by nokia care to ask about the GPS function
- walked to marina square for snacks (juice & taiwan fried chicken)
- searched for gain city (we didn't find it. we just happened to get there somehow)
- looked at cooker hoods and stoves and settled with what she wanted
- went to grab snacks from 7-11
- cabbed to her place (she was too chicken to drive out)
- walked Murph after his dinner
- started watching Babel, munching on chips, mashmellows & oreos
- movie ended, and switched to channel 8 to watch The Homecoming
- took a shower, then read magazine and slept at about 11
- woke up at 8
- watched channel 16 on cable
- "rot" on the sofa alone (she brought Murph out for morning walk and her breakfast + paper reading)
- dug out Finding Nemo and watched it
- fell asleep mid way
- finished it and continued watching cable
- went out to eat at 2.30
- walked back to the house in the rain
- took a nap at 3
- woken up by June asking if i wanted to eat (but i ate already)
- felt hot and sticky, so went to shower
- played XBox and PS games
- watched cable again (caught a little bit of Heroes which i missed)
- watched A Walk to Remember on channel 5 (was trying to smack "blood suckers" while watching) [the secret weapon (pesticide spray) nearly choked us both]
- caught a bit of Mr World 2007 (they were hot!)
and now i'm back home.

i thought my mom would be home, but no. *sigh* grandma nagged about us (my sis and i) staying out late when my mom isn't home. ermm... at least i decided to come home tonight, and not stay one more night. my brother's always the one who would go to my aunt's place to stay while she is away. really know how to take advantage of it huh...

that was my weekend and i have one more day of rest.

one of the best Sundays

skipped the mentors meeting after church, and went to simei with the boys (terence, jeff, yx, timo, barn, samuel, eliezer, jem) for lunch. felt that i needed a break from the quite frequent meetings. kinda weird, cuz all the girls were heading to sue lynn's place for baking session. and it seemed that i was the sole female around, i had no choice but to join the boys. anyway, they wanted to watch Freedom Writers, which i found out about it last night. anyway, the boys went to play LAN after lunch, and i watched them play.

greg came to look for us after the meeting. soon we (yx, terence, greg, eliezer, timo, jem & i) headed down to vivo to get tickets for the 1610hrs show. we were seated 3rd row from the front. haha!! the movie was great! a couple of scenes almost made me cry. i would so want to watch it again!!!

it's rather amazing how can a teacher with much patience, determination, and passion can change the lives and bring differences of others together as one family.

it was the best sunday afternoon i've spent since a long long time.
