thank God that no major booboos today at the event. heehee...

You'll always be a part of me
I'm part of you indefinitely
Girl, don't you know you can't escape me
Ooh darling, 'cause you'll always be my baby
And we'll linger on
Time can't erase a feeling this strong
No way, you're never gonna shake me
Ooh darling, 'cause you'll always be my baby

chorus of "Always Be My Baby" by David Cook

time to rest after a looonnnggg day. =)

It started out as a feeling
Which then grew into a hope
Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word

And then that word grew louder and louder
'Til it was a battle cry
I'll come back
When you call me
No need to say goodbye

Just because everything's changing
Doesn't mean it's never been this way before
All you can do is try to know who your friends are
As you head off to the war

Pick a star on the dark horizon
And follow the light
You'll come back when it's over
No need to say goodbye

You'll come back when it's over
No need to say goodbye

Now we're back to the beginning
It's just a feeling and no one knows yet
But just because they can't feel it too
Doesn't mean that you have to forget

Let your memories grow stronger and stronger
'Til they're before your eyes
You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say goodbye

You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say goodbye
-- The Call by Regina Spektor

a very nice song from "Prince Caspian" movie and soundtrack.

jokes of yesterday (27 June 2008)

J smsed to asked where in Suntec she can find an AXS machine. so i replied to tell her the location. in 5mins, i got a video call from J. i asked why she video calling me, and she said she don't know how come she pressed that button. we saw each other and then disconnected.

the voice call came and she told me a joke. and it went something like that:

J: eh, i tell you a joke.
Me: what?
J: Shan and I were at starbucks drinking coffee right. it's at carrefour. I walked all the way to Convention centre to look for AXS. I'm walking back to carrefour now after seeing your sms.
Me: Wow! Hahaha!
J: so silly right?
Me: Ya!
J: ok, bye.
Me: bye.

yar... very random and silly happenings. she joker at these kinda of random stuff. hahaha!!!

school holidays have come to an end. and it is back to school again. but not for myself though. i am not bragging about it. well, i hope you all are back to study mode. make efforts to study during the week and then you can relax during the weekends!!

to the JC peeps (if you happen to read this): hang in there alright. the tests will all be over soon. then enjoy yourself after it. =)

hmm... let's see what i did today?

- went out early to do banking for the "mom"
- then to pasir ris for a couple of hours
- headed to bugis and sim lim to buy some stuff

ya, that's it. kinda no life isn't it?

i think i need a life more than just work, staying home and using "The One". but like none of the friends are available when i want to meet them.

if only i can own a pet that can make me happy when i get home.

i miss Prince Titus. do you miss me?

watched "The Incredible Hulk" this afternoon. i have to say it was great, cuz i am not the usual fan for super hero movies. the computer graphics of the drop of blood, Hulk changing to Banner and the transformation of the Abomination was superbly well done! i was super impressed by it.

updated
as "my mom" had to buy phone from Starhub, we spent like 30mins there. and we thought we were going to be late for the movie. when we got to the cinema, gabe wanted to buy poppy corn. and being the man, he bought 2 sets of popcorn - 1 sweet, 1 salted. it's like so much lah... anyway, surprisingly we still could get snacks for the movie. i think we were like the last 3 to get into the theatre, and caught half of the final movie trailer of Red Cliff. then the "commercial" to switch off mobile phones, which was super hilarious (go catch a movie for that segment). anyway the moral of the story is, no need to be so 'kiasu' to get into the theatre. why waste the 10, 15mins watching commercials when you can use it to do something else? hahaha!!

anyhow, i think the "mom" has given up explaining that i am not her kid. we are not that alike what...

i've watched 2 movies this month - Prince Caspian and Incredible Hulk. Yay!!

some movies to watch on my list:

- Batman
- Money No Enough 2 (i hope it will be good)
- Mummy 3 (i hope it will be good too)
- 21?
- Wall-E?

yup... i think that's all for now. =)

i am back from a night in tents by Changi Beach Park.

woke up this morning, hoping to catch the beautiful sunrise. but the skies were cloudy, so we did not get to see the orange ball. but then again, we didn't get to see it, does not mean that it is not there.

just like God - He is there, but just that we can't see Him.

anyway, i had quite enjoyed myself yesterday despite being quite a hectic day for me. went for wedding service, and left like almost immediately after saying "hi" to the bride. went to grab snacks and BBQ supplies at NTUC then cabbed to the destination.

it was very encouraging to see the young ones coming up to ask to join in the meeting and BBQ dinner. i'm praying that after our meetings, they will see that the ministry needs new blood in the new year.

fellowship with each other was great. the older ones were teasing the younger ones, which i think is quite a rare sight to see. cuz usually the older ones would be in their own cliques and same goes for the younger ones. i found it hilarious that Lulu-boy could not find his HAVANIAS slipper which was initially buried-then-hidden under the ground sheet. i seriously played no part in hiding the slipper and he actually thought i did it!

overall, thank God for the programmes planned as well as the people assigned to do the relevant projects.

much much to do the next couple of weeks. hee...

Ubin

and so, there was no hot sun when we had the Ubin trip. only rain and more rain... and sigh, my hopes of getting tanned under the sun failed miserably. but everyone (youths and adults) had fun cycling around Ubin!

anyway, when everybody gathered at Changi this morning, the weather doesn't seem good. and the advance party on Ubin had called to inform that it is pouring over very heavily over there. so we gathered together at the market tables and wait. and so we waited and waited... everything was delayed. when the rain was not that heavy anymore, we left to catch the boats to the island. settled everybody's bike, briefing for all, and off they go!! and yes, i was roaming around with my camera and i realised that it was very difficult to catch the groups for a photo. haha!! i don't think i covered as much as the other day when i went for the recee. best part was the end of the day where Darius and i had to play heroes to save a lost sheep. but it was fun... cuz the rain got heavier then and i was totally wet.

just want to say a BIG thank you to all who were involved in planning for this trip. special thanks to uncle Luke, uncle Edwin, auntie Pauline for taking care of the snacks and logistics... also for the adults who took charge of each group even though we did not inform you beforehand... most importantly, thank GOD Almighty for keeping everyone safe from dangers.

i so enjoyed myself today. when do we always have a chance to cycle or do activities under the rain?!?! hahaha!!

in the next 10 years

just wondering and thinking what would i be doing in 10 years?

i dream big dreams of operating a cafe joint for young people to study, play and hang out. thinking about the concept of having sound-proof rooms, so that the people playing games would not be disturbing those studying. alternatively, the operating hours can be scheduled for studying times and play times. thinking of a placing a pool table for all to play too.

set meals at affordable prices for lunch, tea break sets, hotdogs & smoothies, finger food, blah blah blah...

if there were to be expansion, the next branch could be catered to having a stage for creative showcases. probably a little classier than the initial cafe joint.

well, this is my dream. whether it will become a reality or not, let time tell the story. honestly, i have the feeling that the family would so be suited for the F&B line because of current and past experiences.

hmm... maybe i would venture into it few years down the road.

2 weeks notice to attend a wedding

OMG! I, CHERYL LIM WILL NEVER FORGET THE SMS RECEIVED AND READ ON 3RD JUNE 2008, 10.31AM. I WAS INFORMED OF A WEDDING THAT I AM INVITED TO ON THE 15TH JUNE AT 4PM. THE WEDDING TOTALLY CAUGHT ME BY SURPRISED, CUZ IT IS LIKE SO SUDDEN!!! AND BEING ME IN TOTAL SHOCKNESS AND EXCITEMENT, I SAID I WILL ATTEND. THEN REALISED MINUTES LATER THAT, THERE ARE 2 OTHERS "EVENTS" HAPPENING ON THE 15TH!!! BUT I CANNOT NOT BE PRESENT FOR THIS WEDDING! I WANNA BE THERE TO SHARE THE JOYOUS OCCASION WITH HER AND MEET THE ONE FOR HER. I MUST MAKE SURE HE TREATS HER WELL. MUHAHAHA!!

Well, the sad thing is that MINA is all the way in US and would not be back to attend this short-noticed wedding. I bet the bride would be very happy to have both of us around to celebrate it with her. I suppose I will wish the bride on Mina's behalf.

So damn cool lah... My first time attending friends' wedding. And 2 weddings in the month of June. How joyous can it be?! Whooooot!!

Now, need to shop for wedding gifts for both.

er... did i just got myself more work?

i tagged along to west coast for house viewing in the evening. so "kpo" to go right? but it is good that i knew a place exist there. cuz i am an easterner who hardly get the ass to anywhere in the west. the studio apartment unit quite cosy for 2 persons to live, i suppose. one small living room, one bedroom, one toilet, small kitchen, small area for laundry. easy to clean up and tidy the place... i think it is so fun lah... haha!! but no money to own it leh... plus so far from workplace, and i got no private transport to travel up and down...

told myself to take driving lessons at year end. hopefully by next year i can drive. then hope to get a car to "practice". if not, what is the point of being able to drive?

the chronicles of narnia: prince caspian

yay! caught the movie earlier today and it was good. i liked it...

i see it as a story of forgiveness and friendship. i thought peter and prince caspian would not see eye to eye till the end of the movie. but i was wrong. caspian actually listened to peter. haha!!

oh well, i didn't think ben barnes was a good actor. he looked so stoned and not much expression. i totally agree with whichever articles commented about his acting. haha!! he's not that charming anyway... but the entire movie isn't that bad as what the reviews say. don't rely on reviews, cuz some people may just be too critical about it.

anyhow, lucy pevensie has grown so much from the 1st movie 3 years ago. i think she'll grow up to be a pretty woman. maybe like emma watson. and peter is oh-so-dashing. he's too good-looking to be a boy who was fighting at the subway station. not much change in edmund but he is quite witty. i like...

okie, the movie is done. and i am wondering if the younger pevensie will continue as the same characters for the next movie???
