a decade

today, i bumped into my high school teacher. and i thought to myself "sheesh... i'm 23. she was my teacher at age 13. boy, that was 10 years ago!"

10 years... what has happened?

10 years ago, it was the beginning of a teenage life.
10 years ago, met this girl who has special gifts in performing. it is none other than Mina.
10 years ago... there are just too many to write.

i suppose there were millions of things that happened in the last 10 years. they were all memorable, even though i can't exactly recall every single detail of it. friendships, life experiences, adolescence, studies & school, making it out to working life, etc... all these happened in 10 years...

it seems fast, i know. but before you know it, another decade would just come by. then, it will be 2 decades.

what will i be doing or where i will be in another decade?

i dream big dreams...

back to the hustle bustle city

i'm back from a 4-day trip away across the second link. boy, how i wish i need not return here. *sighs*

anyway, i promised to write about "an adventure at jurong point" didn't i? here goes...

on Sunday, 18 May 2008, Cheryl hopped onto the train from Tanah Merah to the end of the East-West line - Boon Lay. The ride took about an hour. Reaching there, she made a call to J and checked where she was. J told me to go meet them at the foodcourt upstairs. And obediently, she went up but J was not there. So, Cheryl made another call to J, and J said they were still downstairs, but she will come up and meet me. And there she saw J walking towards me from a distance. Bought food and then gone one level down to look for G. Cheryl, J and G spent sometime at JP shopping and doing other errands. Then it was time for them to leave. But J&G can't remember exactly which floor the car was parked. So the 3 of us adventured to take a lift down, but they find no car. So, they went to look for another lift - a cargo lift to be specific. Funnily, they went up to where the foodcourt was. Damn~ Seems like they were going round and round. Got out at another exit, but still no car. Oopz... Cheryl and J stood where they were, and G went to search for the car. But guess what? He found no car! Then all 3 headed back to where they had exited earlier and took lift down again. Still no car! So, we decided to walk a flight of stairs up and "ta-da" the car was found!Hurray!!!

sounds quite an adventure isn't it?

anyway, i enjoyed my loonnggg weekend and spending the birthday away from the hustling and bustling. it is really pleasant to sleep to beautiful sounds of the crickets and wake up the next morning to chirping birds. i felt like a princess - king-sized bed with dalmatian comforter, attached toilet, plus i have internet access. hahaha!! and i met the new additions to the family - silver and jewel. i had the opportunity to spend an afternoon with them at home, without their "parents". i call them the 3 princes and princess. prince titus still remembers me from the first time we met. he likes me and i like him too.. he follows and sticks around me. lolz... love him to bits~ he is on my mobile phone wallpaper now. anyway, prince silver left a mark on me - he bit me. ow... =) oh, and i went shopping and bought a really unique jacket-cum-attached-half-shirt top which was on sale. hard to explain what is it lah... went to a night market and got a tee for 10ringgit. haha!! went around to see the properties in construction. boy, it is really beautiful!!

oh, i should say that i received the "best" birthday gift ever... spending my afternoon printing, sticking, stamping, stamping, stamping... hahaha!!!

with all the fun and enjoyment, i had to leave. can we have our retreat there next year?!?!

will upload photos of the princes and princess sometime this weekend... stay tuned...

i was touched by today's sermon. especially when the speaker shared stories of those who are in prison.

can u believe that lives were changed when convicts serve their term in prison? i know and have come across these changed men. and it is true that, they are tough men but they are the sweetest people that you can get to know. and yes, it is a challenge for us, Christians to pray for the inmates in there. May they come to know the Truth and that their old ways will shed and never will look back.

i received an anonymous sms yesterday and replied by asking who it was. though he did not mention his name, but told me he was from Breakthrough, i immediately knew it was Darren. it was really nice to have him send me an encouraging message. it has been quite a long time that i had receive encouraging smses. and coincidentally, the message was shared with something i could relate to - transformed lives of ex-cons. so at the end of the day, i sent a message out to 2 brothers of Breakthrough, telling them about today's speaker and how we should be challenged to pray for the convicts serving their time. i ended my sms by thanking God for their transformed lives. and they replied "Amen" with Luke 22:32 - "But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers."

and coincidentally, Powerhouse+ teaching on Saturday was on the same passage as well. hmmm... i wonder what God has spoke through these 2 times (back to back) the passage was shared?

Deny thyself.

hmm... now i have more questions.

seriously, i am sick of remaining in this house. it feels like a pig sty or worse. think pig stys do get cleaned once in a while. i think stay hotel better, there are cleaners to clean up the room. but nobody in this house cares.

qns: "how can i clear/pack my room with all those stuff chucked there?"
ans: "slowly throw them!"
reply: "but those are not my stuff!!"

damn, i so feel like hiring a part time cleaner.

i still don't understand why the occasionally used sleeping bags has to be packed away deep in the storeroom. and when someone asks for it at the last minute, it cannot be found!

sucks!

cheryl can't believe she is so smart.
cheryl is able to anyhow whack and try to transfer the stuff to The One from The White Reminiscent.
cheryl thought it would be impossible to transfer via firewire.
cheryl did some thinking and googling and wala, found the solution.
cheryl spent 5hrs (and still counting) transferring bits and bytes of data over.
cheryl is upset that she is unable to export entourage mail, because there's error saying that the database is faulty.
cheryl is now dragging mailbox per mailbox to the desktop.
cheryl should sleep like now and continue later today.

i figured out that, somethings can't be rush. the more you want it get done, it will not be so. it's just a matter of taking the time to think and search the know-hows.

in another 1 day, The White Reminiscent shall go into "cold storage". and then it will be The One who is at work.
