okie... guess i will just put up picture of "The One" in this post. cuz i ain't sure when will it be ready for use. so here it is... *drum rolls*
ta-da!!! this is "The One" (thanks to da-jie who named it for me)
yepz, it is my new MacBook. it came delivered to me on monday and i was so excited to be able to receive it personally. yahoo!!
and yes, first thing i did was to try if the current VGA connector that i had from the iBook could fit to the new port. but guess what?! it could not!! so it meant that i have to spend money buying it.
oh well, and since i was at town the other day and wheelock place had apple epicentre, i went to check it out. and instead of buying just the connector, i bought the keyboard skin too. i was also kinda tempted to buy like the trackpad protector. but i figured that it was kinda pointless, so i resisted.
i'm still blogging on the wonky, gone-case iBook which i just named it "White Reminiscent". must be wondering why the name? cuz it really does bring back many memories - the emails stored here, the work i was/is doing with this baby, plus, it is/was my first Macintosh product i owned, and have loved it since. i can't bear to discard or give away this precious one. i know that nobody would want it even if i were to sell it. so i have decided to pack it away in it original box and store away.
Tribute to White Reminiscent (May 2005 to March 2008)
you came to me, because i really want it.
you're the first Macintosh product i owned.
i remembered how you were used to do simple mail merging of letters and name badges.
since i was new to you, i had no idea how to make you communicate to a Windows PC.
i had also hurt you by accident and you were injured. not seriously injured, but you had a mark. then you died once on me, but it was nothing major. got you fixed and you still served me well.
one disadvantage of having you for Major Project in final year, was that it did not work that well with you, because the stuff we were doing, could only be done on a PC.
but you brought me entertainment and i totally enjoyed it.
when i boarded the train, you were the one that worked with me.
then as i grew to know you more, i had figured how to map you to be able to network and get you talking to Windows server for file sharing.
although you sometimes were "discriminated" at, i still love the way you are. cuz only i know how to handle you.
as time goes by, the energy you can give weakened. even though you are deteriorating day by day , you still managed to survive until you could not take it anymore. that was when i knew you had to be replaced.
i had my fun having you for 3years+ (inclusive of when i bought you). i totally do not regret allowing myself to get my hands on something that i was totally unfamiliar with.
you R.I.P now.
yeah... i guess i had it all summarised there. you readers could be thinking that, me, this crazy one actually played tribute to an equipment?! lolz... it's cool okie! because it is special to me...
=)
